handicraft your own

handicraft your own
caveman moment of episode 3 "a history of..."

We have prepared a little treat for all of you, who enjoyed our latest episode and have a knack for handicraft something in the real world.

Follow this tutorial to create your own caveman moment - it can be a nice addition to your bookshelf! We also would like to see your results. Just send us a picture!

What you need: paper, cutter, scissors, ruler, glue, thin wire (bendable)

opens pdf
1. Please download and print the the above pdf. The paper size is A5, so I recommend to print with the best quality settings.

2. Roughly cut out all six elements and glue the main 4 (see above picture) onto a thicker piece of paper (minimum 200g), this step is necessary, because normal 120g paper is too thin. If you are able to print on thick paper you can skip this step.

3. Meanwhile the glued parts are drying we prepare the wire. We use the printout as a guide to bend the wire (ca.10cm) into the desired shape.
(Here I used a wire that came along with a toy fixing it in the box. Also most cables that come with electronic devices are wrapped with bendable wire.)

4. Next we carefully cut out all the elements. For straight cuts use the ruler and the cutter.

5. Now we fold the elements marked with X and Y (as shown on the picture) and glue them on the corresponding place of the basis disc. The "rock" should stand up in a 90° angle.

6. At last we connect the caveman, wire and rock using the two remaining bits of paper. Use the pictures to place all elements on the right spots.

Ta, taa....Here it is!
If you kept going til the end you got yourself a little well deserved reward!

As mentioned in the beginning: we really would like to see your results. Just send us a picture to  pocket.animation.office@gmail.com

Have fun and all the best from the pocket-animation team
